Characteristics of foundry grade chromite sand:
—1. Good resistance to alkaline slag and does not react with iron oxide.
In practical applications, chromium ore sand can prevent thermochemical sand from sticking to the surface of the casting.
—2. Chromite ore sand is an inert casting sand with a large wetting angle to molten steel. This makes it have good anti-wetting properties to molten steel. Chromite ore sand does not react with molten steel.
—3. The thermal conductivity and heat storage coefficient are several times higher than those of silica sand. This characteristic of chromite ore sand can increase the cooling rate of molten steel. It will make the cast steel parts have fewer shrinkage holes and pores.
—4. High refractoriness. High temperature resistance will help maintain the chemical stability of the sand when the molten steel is poured.
—5. Low thermal expansion coefficient. This characteristic of the foundry chromite sand will help increase the unformed defects on the castings.
—6. The chromite sand particle size is obtained strictly in accordance with the AFS standard. the chromite sand we produce has low turbidity. This will make the chromite quality consistent.
—7. The SiO2 content is less than 1%. This will help prevent the heavy skin and sand adhesion defects on the castings.

Application of foundry grade chromite sand:
–Investment casting. Used for shell molding of precision casting, such as water glass shell molding.
–Mixed material for molding sand and core making for carbon steel and high manganese steel casting.
–Can be used as a casting additive for the ladle and an additive for the ladle water inlet drainage sand.
–Self-hardening sand process with water glass binder, used for casting of carbon steel or chrome-manganese steel.
— Lost foam casting and coated sand casting.
— Green sand suitable for large or extra-large castings.
— In precision casting, it can be used as shell sand (chromite sand) and casting coating (chromite powder).
